Child labour 5 by GMBAkash Child labour 5 by GMBAkash
Child labour is not a new issue in Bangladesh.as children remain here one of the most vulnerable groups living under threats of hunger, illiteracy, displacement, exploitation, trafficking, physical and mental abuse. Although the issue of child labor has always been discussed, there is hardly any remarkable progress even in terms of mitigation

17.5 percent of total children of the 5-15 age group are engaged in economic activities. many of this children are engage in various hazardous occupations in manufacturing factories. factory owners prefer to employ children as they could pay them less and also able to keep their factories free from trade unionism. a child labour gets taka 400 to 700 ( 1 USD = 70 taka) per month, while an adult worker earns up to taka 5000 per month.

Child labour 5 by ~GMBAkash I have seen several deviants linking to this relatively new member. Its heartbreaking to see children like this, wading through steaming piles of garbage. In a few days, happy children around the world be collecting bags of candy with delight, while in too many places, they wont.. ( Suggested by glitterdarkstar and Featured by straightfromcamera )

Here in Russia we have thousands of people living in heaps of trash. They have no house. Every day they are trying to find something eatable in trash...

As usually, the kids will have it hit the hardest. The orphans or kids that just need to help with their family.

I wonder, when will the world learn?

Iunno, whenever I talk about this type of stuff. It's hard to get any sort of reaction from anyone. Maybe it's because our society is pretty stoic or maybe because they just don't see it. Heard about, know about yet fact is out of sight out of mind.

As for the picture itself. Interesting border, the feeling it gives me is that this picture isn't something you find in magazines, makes it more personal. The inclusion of the machine adds to the idea that this small child is horrible misplaced.

tnx for the pic mate.

I enjoy urban photographs; they walk that fine line between being a simple snap-shot and being something that gives the impression of organization. This particular piece is a nice one because our focus is in the center and, with so much going around, we're able to develop our own assumption of what the child has been through, etc.

Nice job, because it's always fun to come across photographs that allow us to formulate our own assumptions and opinions.

Also, kudos to you for having this piece featured in today's Daily Deviation!

It breaks my heart, to see the way these children live. There's so much wrong, and not enought people trying to make it right. Hopefully your photographs touch more lives.
